On Friday 4th Feb 2011 over 130 pupils from selected schools in Grimsby ascended on the Oasis Academy Wintringham to compete in the North East Lincolnshire School Sport Partnerships Y5/6 Quick Sticks Hockey Competition. Pupils from Welholme Community School, Old Clee Primary School & Lisle Marsden Primary School participated in several mini leagues which follows on from coaching receieved courtesy of North East Lincolnshire School Sports Partnership.
Despite playing in near hurricane winds the children played well & demonstarted a high level of skill & sportmanship throughout. Matches were also umpired by pupils at the Oasis Academy Wintringham, marking the event as a truly enjoyable festival.
