The 2015/2016 Secondary Indoor Rowing Competition was held at Oasis Academy Wintringham on Friday 29th January 2016.
Competing schools/teams were Oasis Academy Wintringham, Cleethorpes Academy, Tollbar Academy (2) Humberston Academy (2) and Havelock Academy.
The event began with the Yr7 individual races, where Ryan Thompson from Havelock A (555m) won the boys event and Rebecca Boyd (500m) from Tollbar A won the girls event.
In the Yr8 races, Harry Fred Jennings from Tollbar A (831m) won the boys event and Grace Holmes from Humberston A (765m) won the girls event.
The Yr9 races were won with a clean sweep by two Tollbar pupils. In the boys event, Thomas Ravell from Tollbar A won with 1088m and Elizabeth Wells from Tollbar A (1012m)
The Yr10 boys event was a fantastic event with Tollbar's Max Searby (1433m) edging out Wintringham's Jake Hiles by a 4 metres! 34 metres seperated 1st to 5th in the girls event, with Joanna Dlugoszewska from Havelock A winning by 5 metres.
Finally, the Yr11 individual events were won by Harvey Nicholls of Tollbar A (1720m) and Georgia Mann (1474m) of Tollbar B.
After the individual events a series of paired and team relays took place with some thrilling races and fantastic teamwork on show.
The results were then analsysed and the winning school declared. Congratulations to Tollbar A for retaining their title!
