KS3/4 SEND and Low ability 5-a-side Football

The North East Lincolnshire School Sports Partnership’s KS3 & KS4 SEND and Low ability 5-a-side Football tournament took place on Thursday 16th October at Bradley Football Development Centre.

In the U14 category, competing teams were Cambridge Park A, John Whitgift, North Axholme Winterton and Cambridge Park B. The U14 league was an extremely tight affair, with Winterton and John Whitgift tied on 10 points apiece after their 4 matches and only Whitgift’s firepower and superior +13 goal difference handing them the title.

In the U16 category, competing teams were Cambridge Park A, Winterton, Cambridge Park B and Cambridge Park C. Cambridge Park A finished in 2nd place, losing their only game, 2-1 to eventual winners, Winterton, who emerged victorious with a perfect 100% 3 wins out of 3 record, scoring a fantastic 20 goals in the process. Winterton’s clinical finishing was there for all to see, hitting the target time after time.

Despite the competitive nature of the tournament, the enthusiasm, teamwork and sportsmanship on show was a joy to see.

School Games Organiser, Nick Hanson said:

“All credit to the schools and pupils involved. The event was played in a fantastic spirit and involved some really competitive matches. We are striving to create opportunities for all to ensure all players reach their potential. Congratulations to the winning schools, John Whitgift and Winterton.’

Special thanks go to the North East Lincolnshire Sports Development coaches who helped support and officiate the event, without their contribution the event would not be possible.
