Thursday night Hockey was back with a bang as eight teams contested the opening week of the North East Lincolnshire School Sports Partnership’s U13 Boys Hockey Central Venue League.
Teams representing Oasis Academy Wintringham (2 teams) Healing Academy (4 teams) Humberston Academy and Ormiston Maritime Academy each played the first three fixtures of three weeks of action.
Week 1 saw Oasis Academy Wintringham ‘A’ emerge with a perfect 100% record, having won all 3 fixtures (6-0, 2-0 and 4-1).
In second and third place, Humberston (6-0, 6-1 and 3-3) and Ormiston (0-0, 6-0, 4-0) both emerged unbeaten having won two and drawn one of their fixtures.
Nick Hanson event organiser said, ‘The standard of boys Hockey is improving year upon year and with the emergence of central venue leagues, will only get better. The SSP is continuing to develop club links across a range of sports and in Hockey, we are working in partnership with Grimsby Hockey Club to give pupils further opportunities to develop their skills.’
