Y6 Cricket Competition
On Tuesday 3rd June the North East Lincolnshire School Sports Partnership annual Y6 Mixed Kwik Cricket took place at Cleethorpes Cricket Club. 8 Schools were put into 2 groups to battle it out before progressing in to the knockout stages with the winners having the honour of representing North East Lincolnshire at the ECB Kwik Cricket County Finals in Lincoln on Tuesday 24th June. The Cricket on the day was of a high standard with Old Clee, Healing A, Signhills and Scartho Juniors all looking strong during the group stages. After the conclusion of the group stages, Scartho Juniors won the 4th place playoff and Signhills the 3rd place playoff, meaning a final between the outstanding Healing A and Old Clee. After a tightly contested final, it was Old Clee who collected the trophy from Healing A. Event Organiser, Mike Womersley said, ‘The competition was played in an excellent spirit and all teams deserved enormous credits for their efforts.’ A special mention to Cleethorpes Cricket Club for their support with the event.
