Coomb Briggs rewarded for sporting excellence

Coomb Briggs Primary School was delighted to receive the GOLD kite mark for their outstanding achievements in School Sport and Leadership and have become the first primary school in North East Lincolnshire to do so!

The Sainsbury's School Games Kitemark is a Government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community.  Schools assess themselves across bronze, silver and gold levels of the Kitemark.  They have to provide opportunities to attract less active young people to participate in physical activity, have at least two hours of physical education per week, engage students in leading, managing and officiating in school games activities and offer participation and competition opportunities for extra-curricular sporting activity every month.

This school took part in numerous events ranging from Athletics and Table Tennis to Swimming and Rounder’s; catering for all ages and abilities. On occasions the school also represented NE Lincolnshire at county wide and regional events showing the depth of this outstanding achievement.

We hope that we can work together to help more of our schools achieve their Kitemark status and get fully engaged with the Sainsbury’s School Games.

If you want to get in touch to find out how you can work towards your Kitemark status contact the North East Lincolnshire School Sports Partnership on 01472 871811 and we will help you through the process.
