Coaching Opportunities
- If you are aged between 16 to 19 and in full time education in North East Lincolnshire, you could become one of our new volunteer coaches!
- Becoming a volunteer coach in this way may be your first step towards becoming a sports coach.
- There are a limited number of coaching bursaries which will help you to do this by providing you with £150 towards the cost of your first Level 1 Coaching qualification.
How can I be selected for a Coaching Bursary ?
- Show a passion for Sport/Physical Activity.
- Contact us to volunteer at events such as Primary School Multi Skills Festivals and Competitions.
- Be punctual and reliable
Level 1 Qualifications:
- If you are selected to receive a coaching bursary, you can choose which Level 1 course you would like to spend your £150 on.
- You could choose any sport: Basketball, Football, Rugby, Athletics, Gymnastics...
- The SSP will support you to find a suitable course.
What would I need to do in return?
Those on the programme will:
- Be expected to complete at least one Level 1 coaching course
- Commit to a minimum of 15 hours voluntary coaching time on behalf of the school / college / SSP outside of normal curriculum hours e.g. lunchtime and after school.
- Contribute towards the cost of the above courses if you do not fulfil the minimum coaching hours
- Have fulfilled all child protection requirements e.g. Enhanced CRB clearance.
- Behave at all times in a professional and suitable manner as an ambassador of the SSP
Further Benefits:
Once you have completed the Recruit Into Coaching programme you will be well on your way to becoming a professional coach:
- You will have your first Level 1 qualification
- You will be eligible to go on to a Level 2 qualification
- You will have gained work experience
- You could apply for paid coaching work
