Match Report - Mike Hay
Congratulations Tollbar Y11 Football Winners
The game was well contested between two evenly matched teams.Toll Bar probably attacked more in the first half but Humberston played the better football. Matty Darwood ,Toll Bar’s emergency goalkeeper couldn’t cut out a cross from the right which was headed in at the far post. Toll bar equalized with a shot from Elliot Broughton that went under the body of the Humberston goalkeeper but shortly afterwards he made amends with an excellent save after a Toll Bar forward cleverly beat the Humberston off side trap. Toll Bar went ahead just before half time with a well judged volley with his instep from Charlie Ridley after a cross from the right. The Humberston ‘keeper did well to get a hand to the ball but could not keep it out.Humberston made it 2-2 in the second half and at this stage either team could have won. Tempers became frayed and a player from each side was dismissed for fighting. After this unfortunate incident both teams concentrated on football and three minutes from the end Toll Bar broke away and scored the winning goal.
