On Tuesday 11th October, the KS3/4 Boccia compretition took place at Franklin College.
9 teams from 4 schools were representing Humberston Academy, Humberston Park, Oasis Academy Wintringham and Oasis Academy Wintringham.
Teams were placed into 2 groups and matches were played to the best of 3 ends. The standard of Boccia on show was fantastic with some
In group 1, Oasis Academy Wintringham A and Oasis Academy Immingham A finished on equal points, with Wintringham edging Immingham into second place with a points difference of 8-3.
In group 2, Oasis Academy Immingham B had the competition's only 100% record after the group stage - a fantastic performance. 2nd/3rd and 4th were all tied on 8 points, with OAW B edging out Humberston and OAW C on points difference (+7 -1 -4).
The results of the group stages resulted in an all Wintringham affair in semi final 1 and an all Immingham affair in semi final 2.
In the first semi final, Wintringham B edged out Wintringham A 2-1 and in the second semi final, Immingham B continued their impressive form by beating Immingham A 14-0.
The final was a tense affair with Immingham B taking a 1-0 lead after the 1st end. In the 2nd end, Wintringham B pulled off a 2-0 victory with accurate placement and tactical play. This resulted in a decisive final end, with Wintringham winning 1-0 and taking the title of North East Lincolnshire champions 3-1.
