The North East Lincolnshire School Sports Partnership’s Yr5/6 Basketball competition took place on Tuesday 16th October at the Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education.hI
Following a training session with skills and drills the previous week, New Waltham, Oasis Academy Nunsthorpe, Canon Peter Hall, Lisle Marsden, Scartho A and B took to battle to compete for the title of Yr5/6 champion.
The Basketball on show was of a high standard, resulting in a very competitive event. Scartho A ran out as event winners, edging out runners up, Lisle Marsden by a single basket in the final! Scartho Juniors B came 3rd with Canon Peter Hall in 4th.
Event co-ordinator, Justine Ramsden said, ‘The standard of Primary Basketball is improving year by year and you can see the children have developed their skills from the Year 4 competition last year. The event this year was extremely competitive. Congratulations to winners Scartho A!’
